When Christine reached out to me about photographing her upcoming Eastern Yacht Club wedding, I was so excited! For one, I absolutely loved her enthusiasm and energy! Secondly, I hadn’t photographed a wedding at Eastern Yacht Club in years! It was one of the first venues I worked at, so it held some special memories for me. You can see one of those past weddings here! It’s funny to see how far I’ve come in developing my style since then! I was thrilled to be back at EYC with another amazing couple, and a little more experience under my belt!
Christine & Christian’s day was full of so much laughter. It was such a joy to see how much these two make each other laugh – and everyone around them too!
Christine is a photographer herself, and a very creative person. She not only designed their wedding invitations (seriously how cute are they?!) but she also hand crafted all of the floral arrangements and the decor, including the adorable crab place cards. Her vision of a navy, light blue and white wedding came to life so beautifully! The silver, white, and light blue details are giving calm, coastal vibes.
The couple got ready separately, and chose not to see each other before the ceremony – but we made sure to get some photos done beforehand anyway!
Christine shared a sweet first look with each of her parents, and then we photographed the bridesmaids and groomsmen separately before the guests arrived.
Just before the ceremony, the bride and groom decided to have a first touch – where they didn’t see each other, but could hold hands and talk. It was such a sweet moment before they finally said I do!
After the beautiful ceremony, we finished up some wedding party portraits with this hilarious crew!
The skies could not have been more perfect. Christine loves being able to see the color of the sky in photographs (which is sometimes difficult on bright days on the water!) but the Chesapeake Bay was seriously showing off this day!
Their reception had more beautiful handcrafted decor, with lots of bright whites and pops of light blue and greenery.
After the party began, we pulled Christine & Christian out for some sunset portraits on the pier. The lighting was literally perfect! I’m a sucker for some good nautical dock portraits!
We finished up with one of the most vibrant sunset skies I’ve had the pleasure of seeing at a wedding! The pinks and blues were so dreamy!
They finished off the night with more laughter and lots of crazy moves on the dance floor!
