This past May, I had the pleasure of documenting another breathtaking waterfront wedding at Chesapeake Bay Beach Club. The picturesque setting and stunning details came together to create a truly magical day for Lauren & Karl. The soft hues of light blue and white created a calm atmosphere against the serene backdrop of the Chesapeake Bay and the iconic Bay Bridge at sunset.
Chesapeake Bay Beach Club is known for its scenic views of the bay, and Lauren & Karl’s wedding was no exception! The couple chose to say their vows overlooking the sandy shores, with the bay sparkling in the background. As the sun set over the horizon, the colors just got dreamier and dreamier. I couldn’t have asked for a more delightful couple or gorgeous day!
Lauren put many personal details into her wedding. For instance, the special butterflies in her detail photos also made an appearance during the ceremony, saving seats for loved ones who had passed. They also acted as meal indicators on the reception tables! I also love the vintage pieces she used to tell the story of her day – the stamps, perfume bottle, and handheld mirror were a beautiful touch.
The wedding party got ready at the Inn at the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club, where a few bottles were popped before they shared a beautiful first look!
Lauren’s grandfather brought a beautiful vintage car for the couple to get some awesome photos with!
The color palette was a delicate combination of light blue and white. The bridesmaids looked ethereal in their flowing light blue dresses, and the groomsmen complemented them perfectly in classic navy suits. The colors created a serene and romantic atmosphere, setting the stage for a sweet & emotional ceremony.
Personally, I think one of the highlights of the day was golden hour. As the sun began to set, we headed down to the beach to capture some portraits of the newlyweds with the pastel skies behind them. The views were nothing short of magical, with the soft hues of light purple, pink and blue illuminated by the golden rays of the setting sun.
You can’t start a reception on the bay without oysters! Lauren & Karl cheers’ed to an oyster shooter to start off the party! And boy, was it a PARTY. The Beach House Ballroom was decorated with soft white linens, subtle greenery and light blue accents. The party began with a sweet first dance, but once the DJ opened the dance floor, it was nonstop fun! They ended the night with a bubble exit. Congratulations, L&K!
